Two road worlds
The motorway and the national road follow different logics. One is a fast, controlled-access, tolled axis; the other a free, open network but more exposed to hazards.

Time, cost, comfort
The motorway saves time and comfort, at the price of the toll. The national road saves that cost but brings more variability (village crossings, junctions, local traffic). For a long trip or a time constraint, the motorway often wins; for a tight budget or a scenic drive, the national road has charm.
When to choose which
- Motorway: long distances, limiting fatigue, keeping to a schedule, safety;
- National road: short trips, tight budget, discovering the countryside.
